Ethan - Our gift from God

Today, Ethan came home and told me excitedly that he scored 99 out of 100 marks for his SA2 Math exam (Semestral Assessment 2). He then went on to tell me that he also scored 98% for his English Language exam. I was, needless to say, overjoyed.


This is the first major exam of his life and though I expected him to do well, I never thought it could be this well. As usual, I told him there will be no gift for doing well in his exams because he should do well not for the sake of the gifts. He understood and accepted this as a matter of fact. (I had told him countless times before that I buy him gifts because I love him not because he does something well.)

However, he does not know that, deep within our hearts(my wife and I), we have this sudden urge to want to reward him for the hard work put in and the wonderful results he attained. We will secretly plan something for him.

Ethan told me that he look forward to being promoted to Primary 2. When he found out that he will get to know his new class and new teacher next week, he was really excited and hoped that next year he will get teachers as nice as Mdm Foo (his form teacher this year). I was definitely infected by his excitement. I pray that God will sent many good teachers to teach his class next year.
